Destination Meditations: Escape Stress
CategoriesUncategorized
It was the second day of Kindergarten for my son. I volunteered in his classroom. It was crazy and chaotic. No surprise. I had a half hour before heading back in for one more hour.
I went out to my car and listened to this meditation: “Beach relaxation.”
I went back into the Kindergarten classroom with a sense of peace and ease. What a difference! Meditation is so personal for everyone, but please find time this week to put a guided meditation to the test.
Pick a super stressed day, or a stressed moment, and use one of these “destination meditations”.
Heading into week #3, I realize some of you may be totally on board, others not, and even still some of you may be sort of hanging on. It’s crunch-time! There are last minute holiday opportunities to fit in before it’s all over.
It is so hard to go from busy to present. Since a good chunk of life runs on autopilot, people don’t give much thought to their escapes either.
The main meditations this week are a healthy escape…
… as opposed to unhealthy escapes: Ice cream. Chocolate overdose. A pack of cigarettes. Too much wine and cocktails. Compulsive shopping. Mindless Television. Social media. Energy drinks.
Most of the time, ask yourself what it is you need when you’re feeling stressed or faced with negative emotions! The answer is usually stress relief, recharging (mentally and physically), and a sense of calm.
This really fills a void that replaces many of the unwanted habits and escapes you may rely on.
Also enjoy: “Mindful Meadow“
(Both meditations have soothing background sounds to accompany the specific meditation.)
Have a lovely day,
Laura
